On a date with Miaoting..

Weekend for me is rather the usuals "i get up eat breakfast, make my bed, does my laundry and back to bed watching DVDs or lazing around the house". This weekend was slightly altered compared to my repetitive routine because i went on a date with Miaoting aka Miao.... Just as ordinary as any other outings but the anticipation i built before the date, made a minor blissful difference measured up to any other dates i have had in the past. Folks , Miao is not my weekend rendezvous i hid from my husband, she’s my long long long time buddy from secondary school whom i haven’t met in yonks...YONKS = 8 long years!!
Since i step my foot out of sg, I’ve completely dodged with no turning back the one place i once called my second home and painfully leaving behind printed memories of spicy curry lasksa, thick gravy perfect to taste hokkien mee, the unforgettable peppery tang flavoured of mud crabs (Jumbo-east coast park) and last but not least to add to my breathtaking collections, are my friends from high school.

(P/S: I miss everyone of you my friends but you are within a mouse click away, however, food doesn't have any access to the latest technology and therefore deserved my opening intro :p). Having an old friend to join me to the journey of "I heart Melbourne" is like bringing sg "food" to me!!!! Damn the aussie Custom.... folks in case you are first time traveller, most food are apparently ban from entering the bloody country, what Miao could squeezed in her language are pressie from my dearest bff Sop, Big boobies aka Sha and lovely always dimpled Ivy, not forgetting the familiar smiles, juicy Goss from Miao..... :D

I promised Miao over msn that i would be her tour guide, well not quite what i anticipated because i lacked sense of direction and was a little nervous/excited i didn't quite know where to start. First stop, we hit Burke/Swanton Street, the liveliest hustling street in heart of Melbourne. Pointing her quickly the main roads adding few snappy descriptions of the building, we came across Mr Hoola Hoop. Painted his face, dressed in floral costume added with vines of fake flowers, i couldn't resist pushing Miao for a photograph with addition of $1 donation to the old pop. This is one of the thing you need to do to survive especially during this stranded economic crisis.

Miao was welcome to Melbourne showered with love by Mr Flower man...

We then took a quick tour down Bourke Street to Flinder station... on the way grabbing a popular by demand, the healthy choice drink BOOST!!

Next stop, i took her to Crown walking along the Yarra River...CROWN=$$$$$$$$$

We had a quick bite at Crown and headed back to city by tram. We walked pass Chinatown but like i mentioned before, i am quite a lousy tour guide I've forgotten to point her out The Chinatown where the ASIANS hangs out!!!! Quick Snap to say we've been there... : )

Miao had to go QV to pick some of the stuffs her cousin left for her... my eyes lit up and YESSSSS another spot i could take to her to.....MAX BRENERS!!!!! Couldn't resist the temptation to try another HOT SPOT in Melbourne...well known for its chocolate delicacy...

I ordered Miao a Suckao ...the look on her face is PRICELESS..

Before i sign off...Miao said she gotta share Max Breners to Weilin because she reckoned it's the BEST THING she has ever tried....other than Gloria Jean and Yes it's million times better. Well folks, that pretty much summed up our city tour for today ....met an old friend, shared some good old times exchanging 8 years of story over half an hour lunch and it cant get any better than this!!! Big love from Australia....

My first attempt at blogging....Dont laugh!!

hmm...where should i start??? Hi my name is Cheanea, i am 27 years of age, i was born in Cambodia, packed my bags left home at a the age of ten to try learning English in Sg for 8 years. i left sg in 2001 again packed my bag and came to Australia and now residing in Melbourne, married with no kid but two lovely furry Pomeranian. My first though: What's so special about blogging?!?! "think think think" ...oh well i thought I'd give it a shot. My gf Sophie( aka sop/lizard lover) is a good writer, she has been blogging for years but i rarely check her blog not because i don't like reading and not because i am not into this whole blogging thing (honestly-i don't like reading) but because i don't really remember the site to actually go back and read it. Anyhow, i had this convo with Sop last night, hoping to get some pointers to this whole blogging.

"Roughly Quote"

Cheanea
: hey go read my blog
Sop: where?
Cheanea: hahhahahahha i don't have one, maybe i should start one
Sop: but you never go and read my blog?
Cheanea: oohh...i never remember the site..alright gimme the link I'll bookmark it now
Sop: http://plasticheartsandpaperdreams.blogspot.com
Cheanea: yeah it looks good, alrity I'll give it a go
Cheanea: what's the website to sign up for it??
Sop: blogger, xanga and (i cant remember). WL (aka toilet brush/Weilin) uses xanga
Cheanea: cool cool which one do you use?
Sop: Blogger

After 10 mins....

Cheanea: Mannnnn , do i have to have gmail account? crap, guess i have to sign up for one.

After 15 mins...

Cheanea: Wooohooo sop i got in, ok ok.. go check my blog i got one now.

After roughly another 15mins

Cheanea: Yayyyy i finally edit my profile, what should i write?? man...m falling a sleep here (btw, i hate writing cos i suck at it)
Sop: if you are too lazy to write just put more pictures lah
Cheanea: ooohhh yeah, i can upload pic of my dog humping my leg....hahaha (so wrong!!)
Cheanea: hey sop i saw you , my first FOLLOWER.... hahah Woohoo... i feel like a king
Sop: yeah yeah

Anyway folks, now that I have decided to have a blog of my own, it got me thinking...Blogging is like a modernize replacement word for "Private diary" but with twist of turning it into a public affair. You blog:

A: to make you feel better
B: to pour all your sorrows/angers/frustration/loves into a blogs bucket but a faster way of penning it down without having to use wipe out or rubber to erase away your mistakes (subconsciously you wanted someone to go through your diary)
C: all of the above..... agree??

-Soooo..what should i blog about?
-Should i write something interesting so i can engage the whole nation to read it?
-Should i blog about a place?
-Should i use alot of "leh, loh, lah, meh, moh, mah"
or...the aussie way "buggars, dammit, bummer, crikey" ??
-should i bother using political words like Dawn Yang when she defended herself from a Blog dragging words war with Xia Xue, or choose to just rant it like a bull loses its horn (aka Xia Xue) every time Steven Lim's face or name pops up in her dream???

Btw, i came across xia xue/dawn yang's blog one or twice when i randomly clicked on the juicy cat fight posted on internet!!! love it/hate it....you just want to see two B*&^%Y fight!! and what Sop told me, you get pay 2k/mth blogging about something randomly stupid, silly, sometime educational but most of the time......entertaining!!!

In conclusion, blogging can be vicious/entertaining/useful/heart ranching, it's all up to me to decide. Given my lack of vocabularies stored in my dictionary brain cell, coupled-with my lousy -never paid attention in English class, i have decided to keep it simple, what you read is what you get (including abbreviation/slang/typo.. ie lol) its' hard to read pass the emotion of a writer by looking at their piece especially someone like me who is so so so LOUSY with English (+lousy grammar & spelling-thank god for spelling checker) To sum up my enduring first attempt of blogging, i have recruit my sis-in law to help me out with a short video clip to kick start my hopefully entertaining blog.

ps: I have nothing against Xia Xue/Dawn Yang/Steven Lim but mannnn...the only blog I've visited less than five, more than two times, is my friend's ex gf: www.nicolekiss.blogspot.com (malaysian famous blogger) therefore, i hope to bring anything that comes to my head and put on the table, funny/scary/entertaining-you decide!!!

Big love from Australia....!!
